Hi! I'm an ambitious, entry-level software engineer with
a unique background that sets me apart. For the past 16
years, I've been a union electrician, laying the
electrical foundations that power businesses and
corporations across the country. Just as electrical
circuits form the backbone of any modern building,
well-structured code forms the backbone of modern
businesses.
In both fields, planning is crucial. As an electrician,
I had to read and interpret complex blueprints before
laying a single wire, ensuring that the final product
would meet both safety standards and functional
requirements. Similarly, in software engineering,
thorough planning and architecture are essential before
writing the first line of code.
In the electrical industry, I led teams to complete
projects on time and within budget, coordinating with
other trades for maximum efficiency. In the tech world,
I've also taken on leadership roles, managing back-end
development and using version control to minimize
conflicts, all while adhering to Agile methodologies.
A year into the pandemic, I decided to pivot. Craving a
new challenge and intellectual stimulation, I graduated
from App Academy, a hybrid bootcamp in San Francisco, in
July 2023. Now, I'm excited to bring my problem-solving
skills and leadership experience into the realm of
software engineering.
